What is CCAC/CARF accreditation and why is it important?
The Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) which was acquired by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in 2003, is the nation’s only accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs).
Before CCAC/CARF was founded, consumers, financial rating agencies, and others had no clear way of determining whether a retirement community was financially stable, providing quality care, or worthy of their investment.
When the retirement community or nursing home you choose is CARF/CCAC-accredited, it means the community has passed an in-depth review of its services. It is your assurance that the community meets rigorous CARF/CCAC guidelines for service and quality—a qualified endorsement that your community conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards and is focused on delivering the most favorable results for you.

Who provides dining services for the Loomis Communities?

Loomis is pleased to be a partner with Sodexho Senior Services, the leading food and facilities management services company in North America. Their mission is to improve the quality of daily life for all the people they serve. The professionals at Sodexho Senior Services know that taste and presentation are every bit as important as nutritional content. Sodexho brings us a variety of special nutritious and flavorful menu items prepared from fresh ingredients, often using locally grown produce. Healthy entree choices are always available and our desserts include sugar-free choices.
What is the fee structure at Loomis House?
Loomis House offers a supported independent lifestyle for older adults who want to make the most of each day while enjoying the security that comes from knowing personalized care is conveniently available on site if ever needed.
A one-time modest entrance fee covers the use of your Loomis House Independent Living or Assisted Living apartment home, access to lifestyle options, and priority access to health and personal care. The entrance fee is returned to you or your estate on a “declining refundable” basis when you leave your apartment home. Assisted Living is 90% guaranteed refundable. Both plans provide you a valuable asset preservation benefit.
A simple monthly fee covers most of the typical expenses you currently have, such as utilities, real estate taxes and maintenance fees, while also providing you a palate of outstanding services and amenities such as a dining program, activities, housekeeping, transportation and much more as described under “Services and Amenities.”
All health care and assisted living services in Independent Living are offered on a fee for service basis. That is, there is no built-in additional charge in your monthly service fee for services you may never use. You pay only for the services you need, and only when you need them.

At the Loomis House Nursing Center, there is a daily fee. A resident's stay in the Nursing Center may be covered by Medicare or Medicaid (called Masshealth in Massachusetts). For more detailed information, please contact us.
