Skilled nursing care is available at the Loomis House Holyoke nursing home, the only nursing center in New England that is CARF/CCAC accredited as a Person-Centered Long-term Care Community. All Loomis House residents receive priority access to the Loomis House nursing center and seven days of nursing care each year free of charge, should they need it.  The Loomis House nursing care center is both Medicare and Medicaid-certified.

The Loomis House nursing center in Holyoke MA is a national leader in innovative skilled nursing services. The professionals at Loomis House have created a culture focused on individual resident needs, not staff convenience. Schedules, routines, daily care and activities are flexible and home-like, provided by a specially trained and consistent team of caregivers. Perhaps the best medicine is the partnership between residents, families and staff to create a warm and supportive environment of optimism and confidence.  Whether the need is for short-term rehabilitation, special care for needing a Holyoke Alzheimer's / Memory care facility or other related diseases, or end-of-life care, the skilled and compassionate staff at Loomis House provides exceptional care.

In February 2014, the Loomis House Nursing Center received two deficiency-free surveys from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) for the second year in a row.

Loomis House also was recognized by US News with a 5 star rating in 2015. The ratings are based on:

  • State-conducted Health inspections
  • Nurse staffing - how much time the nurses spend with residents
  • Quality of medical care

Each nursing home receives an overall rating of one to five stars. Facilities in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., are included.

See US News to read more, including the details on all three categories surveyed.

According to David Scruggs, Loomis Communities President and CEO, “Deficiency-free surveys are a top indicator of excellence in nursing homes and are difficult to achieve. We understand how important it is for our residents, their families and our communities to provide nursing services that meet their needs.”

The DPH reviews all areas of care practices to make certain that all regulations are followed. Areas include resident rights, facility practices, infection control, quality of life, resident satisfaction, quality of care delivered, culinary services, all nursing and ancillary services, rehabilitation, physical environment, and administration. In addition, a second life safety survey reviews the physical plant issues that make a safe living and working environment.
