Holyoke Becoming a Dementia Friendly Community

HOLYOKE-- Steps to make the city safe and respectful for people with dementia were announced Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at a press conference at City Hall. "Nearly 60 percent of people with dementia live in their own communities, and one in seven live alone, creating an urgent need for communities to support people with dementia and their caregivers," a press release said.    Read more...

Residents Honored at Loomis House

Holyoke- On November 2, six independent living apartment residents at Loomis House were honored for being good neighbors. Good Neighbor nominations are made by residents who observe thoughtful acts and kindness. From caring for gardens to helping with grocery shopping or providing companionship, the honorees make Loomis House a welcoming community. On Thursday October 27, 2016, a cooking competition modeled after Iron Chef was held at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing.
