Frank and JoAnn Judice document their First Year at Applewood

Frank has been making amateur videos for 26 years and before that, he enjoyed photographing his family vacations, weddings and other functions since 1950. JoAnn is his wife and assistant.

Frank and JoAnn moved to Applewood from their home in Sunderland, Massachusetts in August, 2013. They thought it would be fun to document the different activities and events that Applewood participates in, on and off, the Amherst Campus. JoAnn is a member of several resident committees and the Chimes group; while Frank has joined the food committee, he’s spends most of his time attending the other meetings and videotaping their sessions along with the beautiful Applewood grounds and Orchard Arboretum. Frank and JoAnn like to walk and enjoy the magnificent landscape and views that are Applewood.

They both feel that life at Applewood is a bit different than they expected. They can be as involved or not as they like. There are many activities during the day and in the evenings to keep everyone occupied and enlightened, from movies twice a week to lectures on Saturday morning and Tuesday evening, Sunday afternoon concerts, trips to shopping, cultural events in the Amherst area at the Universities and Colleges as well as surrounding towns and cities.

JoAnn takes Applewood transportation to swim at the Loomis Village pool once a week and enjoys the commradery of the other Applewood residents who also attend. The folks who live and work at Applewood have been welcoming and very accommodating of their needs and desires as news members of the community.
