Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing Residents presented original play
Once Upon a Time on November 12 and 13
All of the drama took place at a fictional community called Cranberry Cove. “The Cove,” as it is affectionately called, is located somewhere in Southeastern Massachusetts, right on the edge of a big cranberry bog.
We discover that many famous Americans, of both distant and recent past, have decided it is time to settle in at The Cove to either retire or find employment. A residents’ screening committee is interviewing the applicants. Photos of those interviewed include: Nancy Neiske as Mae West, Barbara Murphy and John Blossom as Sadie and Daniel Boone, Janet Hale as Bette Davis, Andy Parke as Hedda Hopper, Carole Brown as Ted Geisel, Andy Weichert as Victor Borge and many more were interviewed!
The Reeds Landing Theatrical Group consists of volunteer playwrights, actors, stage crew and support staff. All of the shows have been written by a Playwrights Team and directed under the able guidance of Carol Hausamann. In addition to bringing entertainment to the residents and their friends, their goal is to involve a large number of residents in each of the productions. There are no professional actors in the group. Since 2010, the Theatrical Group has mounted ten productions and performed to considerable acclaim at five Senior Centers in the Springfield area.
