On a recent October Friday and Saturday Residents and Marketing staff presented an Open House and Artisan Craft Fair. Along with resident made items for sale and raffle, area artisans had booths with beautifully crafted and displayed items. Items ranging from custom writing pens, quilted items, jewelry, notecards, books, paintings, repurposed wine bottles, handwoven items, and baked goods. Featured artists Donna and Larry Roy, Stan Halgas, Marilyn Webb, Beth Ezold, Dell Rodman, Lynn Gauthier, Laura Weickert, Karen Rogers,Gail Whitney, Donna Blanchard, Karen Callini, Espie Speliopoulos, and Karen Emerson. In addition, Pam Engberg and the Weavers Guild of Springfield demonstrated Navaho and floor weaving.
Lots of tours were given of the community and the event raised over $2,000 for the Reeds Landing Philanthropic Fund that provides resident Friendship Funds, staff scholarships, and improvements to Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing.
