Thomas R. Pratt, a principal with Burkhart, Pizzanelli, P.C., in West Springfield was honored by The Loomis Communities with the Elvira Whiting Ball Award for outstanding voluntarism to The Loomis Communities. Since 1994, Pratt has served on the Finance, Investments, Compensation, Audit, and Nominating Committees of the Board of Directors. In addition, he served on the Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing Foundation Board, and many ad-hoc committees, including the recent CEO Search Committee. He served as Chair of the Board of Directors twice, from 1998-2000 and 2006-2008.
He explains that he has gotten much more out of volunteering for Loomis than he has given. “It has been an honor to serve with the senior management team and the other members of the Board of Directors. They are leaders in our community, and I have learned so much from working with them.”
Pratt also has experienced Loomis first-hand as a family member of a resident. Tom had been on the Board for many years before his mother became hospitalized and needed skilled nursing services to recuperate. Tom says he prayed that there would be a room for her at the nursing center. Fortunately there was, and he says that her care was fantastic. It was just the right amount of pampered care and strong encouragement. She healed in the nursing center and thrived in assisted living at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing.
His interests include travel, golf, jogging and motorcycling. He and his wife Terry reside in Somers, Connecticut.
