Ways to Give to The Loomis Communities
An outright gift in the form of cash or securities can be made for any purpose. You may make a gift in support of current needs through annual giving, or designate a gift for a special project or campus.
Gifts of Stocks, Bonds or Other Marketable Securities
Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, or other marketable sercurities are ideal if you wish to reduce or eliminate capital gains tax. If the securities that you wish to give to The Loomis Communities have decreased in value below their original cost, it may be better to sell the security and give the proceeds as your gift.
Naming The Loomis Communities as a beneficiary in your will is probably the simplest and easiest way to provide a lasting gift. Bequests can be made in a specific gift amount or as a percentage of an estate. In addition, you may indicate the way you wish your bequest to be used. Here is sample language: “I give ($__dollars or % of the residue of my estate) to The Loomis Communities, a charitable corporation for the benefit of the Board Designated Endowment (or insert designation).”
Charitable Gift Annuities
A charitable gift annuity provides income for life, a charitable tax deduction and support for your favorite Loomis Community or purpose. Here is a sample of single life annuity rates: 75-5.8% 80-6.8%, 85-7.8%, 90+ 9%. These rates are effective October 2015. Annuity rates recommended by the Council on Gift Annuities are based on age and are subject to change without notice. Please contact Carol Constant for a personalized sample of benefits for you.
