Loomis Communities Spring Reception

The Loomis Communities held their 7th annual Spring Reception on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Over 140 people gathered at Loomis Village in South Hadley to honor the Founding Directors of Applewood at Amherst. Those being honored included:  Theodore Bacon, Robert Gage, Robert Grose, Kurt Hertzfeld, Robert von der Lippe, Gale McClung, Jeanne Potash, Maida Riggs, Allen Torrey, Charlotte Turgeon, Mary Tuttle, Susan Woglom, and honored posthumously were Alfred Guest, George May, Larry Selgelid, Trudy Stella, Carl Swanson, and Emmons Williams.
It was an event to remember. Loomis residents, Corporators, Directors, and local community and business leaders enjoyed delicious fare prepared by Sodexo who provides an exceptional dining experience every day for all Loomis residents.
Massachusetts State Representative John Scibak attended the event and presented the honorees with special declarations from the House of Representatives.
The annual Spring Reception is a fundraising event for the Loomis Communities, a not-for-profit organization. Raffle tickets were sold for various prizes, including Boston Red Sox tickets. Over $31,000 was raised to assist Loomis in their mission of serving seniors.
