Giving Back to our Community
September 01, 2008
The residents and staff of the Loomis Communities understand the importance of giving back to their community. Some of the community outreach events held recently include:
A cookie sale on Valentine’s Day. All proceeds were donated to the American Heart Association.
Daffodil Sales each spring benefit the American Cancer Society.
Blood drives, sponsored by the American Red Cross are hosted annually at each of our 3 retirement communities.
A “Relay for Life” is held at each of our 3 retirement communities. Residents and staff walk and raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
A Blueberry Muffin Sale is held each year. Blueberries contain antioxidants which are beneficial to the slowing of age-related loss of mental capacity. All proceeds of this sale benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Residents and staff participate each year in the Pioneer Valley Memory Walk which also benefits the Alzheimer’s Association.
These are just a few of the many ways that the residents and staff give back to their communities.
