Alzheimer's Walk 2017
Team The Loomis Communities raised $6,787.00 for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s held on September 17. Activities included Blueberry Muffin Sales, Dogs on the Run hot dog lunches, basket raffles, a wine tasting, and of course sponsors for those walking. Solar Eclipse Viewing

On Monday, August 21 over 100 residents, family members and team members enjoyed the partial solar eclipse. Everyone received viewing glasses and eclipse moon pies, lemonade and iced tea. Executive Director Craig Johnson and resident Don Bliss wore eclipse fashion. Read more...
Hospitality of Applewood Resident

Sandi is a resident who has lived at Applewood for about 2.5 years. In that time, she has hosted many, drop in and socialize events. Most recently, she opened her home to all of the Applewood staff and residents for coffee, tea and blueberry muffins. She coordinated the event and then recruited a couple of other residents, Jill and Susan to assist with the baking and preparation. Read more...

Applewood Residents Visit Springfield, Massachusetts Materials Recycling Facility

Applewood residents are concerned about their “Carbon Footprint”; so fifteen residents and three staff members received a guided tour through the Recycling Facility. This plant, which has been operating for 27 years, recycles products that are marketable in the United States and other countries. As companies are willing to produce products from used paper, plastics, and metal this industry grows becoming more profitable with an expanding marketplace. Read more...
