Residents and staff of The Loomis Communities raised $10,276 in support of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. All four campuses of The Loomis Communities held blueberry muffin sales, gift basket raffles, dress down days, a wine tasting, sold candy, and were sponsored by friends and families to participate in the walk.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is organized by the Alzheimer’s Association. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Alzheimer’s disease affects one in nine people over the age 65.
The Loomis House Nursing Center provides residential dementia special care and a monthly care givers support group. For more information, call 413-538-7551.
