Loomis Communities
The Loomis Communities makes the most of everything the Pioneer Valley has to offer through partnerships with a diverse array of organizations. Together we bring outstanding opportunities to our residents and the communities we call home.
Friendly Connections is a very popular program that brings together Springfield College students and residents of Loomis Village and Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing for lively discussions on a variety of topics. Everyone benefits from keeping the lines of communication open while sharing different perspectives across the generations.
Virtual balance and fall prevention classes are offered to residents throughout The Loomis Communities where they are led and trained in specific balance and fall prevention techniques. These classes are currently being held virtually and help participants gain skills that help them stay active and feel more secure as they go about their days.
The Walk with Ease Program was developed as a self-guided course offered to all residents across The Loomis Communities. Participants are coached by Physical Therapy students from a variety of area colleges.
Physician Assistance Program is offered at all three of The Loomis Communities. Students are given the opportunity to work alongside Physicians as they practice performing mock physicals and assessments with resident volunteers. PA students are offered this program as part of their training as they work towards graduation.
Holyoke and South Hadley are now dementia friendly communities. The Loomis Communities and several other agencies have partnered to provide options for safe and respectful care for those with dementia and resources for their care givers. Read more here…
